My name is Maru Winckelmann, I'm a freelancer working in photography, videography, production and editing.
The attraction and enthusiasm for capturing “a moment” and making it last for others to see has been with me for many years; and being able to do it for a living makes me a very lucky person. I get to do everyday what I love!!! Hence, I never “go” to work.
Freelancing has given me the freedom to work in a variety of fields, with different clients and on any needed location, abroad or local. My latest projects have been for Microsoft, Telemundo Internacional, Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Don Julio, Ron Zacapa, Ciroc, Nexus Ideas, MISO (Miami Symphony Orchestra).
Being Venezuelan and a Boston University alumni, with a degree from the School of Communications in Broadcast and Film has opened me the doors to many bilingual and bicultural projects.
I love the outdoors and sports so covering sporting events is one of my favorite things to do. Other great projects I've been part of are World Expo Sevilla which challenged me as a producer, cameraman and editor, as well as, my time at Discovery Channel LatinAmerica/Iberia where I received a Promax award.
But my best accomplishment and my definite love in life is my daughter Emma.
